Collin and Ian and their closest family gathered at Iris Aisle in early April for their simple yet stunning greenhouse elopement. The plants around the venue were starting to look lush and green as spring arrived for this sweet LGBTQ wedding day.

Both grooms got ready for the ceremony with their families in our couple’s cabin, each of them wearing matching classic white tuxedo dinner jackets with contrasting black lapels, pleat-front shirts, and timeless black butterfly bow ties from The Black Tux, adorned with a single white flower boutonniere. Their black-tie wedding day look was classic, elevated, and entirely modern, and we are just head over heels for their sleek designer accessories, including identical Cartier LOVE wedding bands, Jean Paul Gaultier sunglasses, and iconic Christian Louboutin Dandelion tassel loafers and Cortomale derbies, with the signature red soles of course! Perfectly finished with a spritz of Maison Francis Kurkdjian eau de parfum.

When it was time for the ceremony, they all made their way to the Conservatory and shared heartfelt vows (and a few sweet tears!) in the octagon end of the Victorian greenhouse, with our tropical plants serving as the backdrop as their loved ones looked on.

After the ceremony, the grooms sliced into the most playful two-tier wedding cake from one of our favorite wedding cake bakers in Iowa, Cake Baby, and toasted their union with their favorite people over sips of Veuve Clicquot champagne and lots and lots of warm embraces. We took family photos in the greenhouse and then explored the whole property for creative newlywed photos of Collin and Ian.

After leaving Iris Aisle, the grooms spent the evening celebrating and hosted their loved ones for a reception dinner at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in West Des Moines.
